Feeling so much today - I brought myself into baby's room for this lullaby - as I know I will be spending many a night here rockin' our child to sleep. So close to holding baby boy in my arms - it's very surreal. From one of the most beautiful Broadway shows turned into film, Edelweiss is a song imprinted on my heart since the first time I saw the The Sound of Music. Although written by Americans for the stage - it's emotiveness was so perfectly captured it was thought to be a heritage Austrian folk melody. This song brings me a sense of comfort and home - especially with the anxiety of all that is to come in the next few weeks. As we get closer to delivery - I keep thinking about the joy of "falling in love again" with this little gift of life. After falling in love with my incredible husband and all my bonus kids - baby boy is already such a wonderful addition to our family near and far.
